Thermal Efficiency (Energy Ratings)

SWS products ensure a warmer living environment and reduced heating bills.

Over 20% of heat loss in the home occurs through old or outdated windows and doors, resulting in expensive home heating bills. All SWS windows and doors are thermally efficient by design; ensuring your home is kept warm and in turn reducing those costly bills.

U-values
U-values measure the amount of heat loss that occurs through a window; therefore the lower the U-value, the more energy efficient the window. U-values take into account the performance of all the window components including the frame, glass, gas fill, spacer bar and frame reinforcement.

All windows are independently tested and certified, and exceed building regulation requirements for energy efficiency which can be beneficial if renting or selling a property.

Frames
All frames are designed with a number of internal chambers within the profile system. Each chamber acts as a barrier against heat loss from inside the home, and against cold air entering from outside.

This multi-chamber design ensures that the frame provides superior thermal efficiency from the outset

Glazing Units
Energy efficient glazing units feature high-performance Soft Coat glass and Warm Edge spacer bar.

Soft Coat maximises heat gain by retaining interior heat and absorbing solar heat. Warm Edge spacer helps eliminate cold areas within the unit and reduce condensation.

Double glazed windows offer U-values of 1.4 (combined frame and glass). Upgrading to triple glazed windows can further reduce the overall U-value to as low as 0.9 and 0.8 (passive window)

By selecting SWS windows you could be reducing your home heating bills by up to 40%; thereby improving the overall energy performance of your home.
